If you haven't gotten to watch the Prime Time Falcons yet, you're in luck - because they're scheduled for their third straight game under the lights on Sunday night when they hose the Ravens.
Each of the last two weeks Atlanta has been considered an underdog going in, and the Falcons have come out on top in dominant fashion both times, destroying the Packers and the Saints on their own home fields.
Two weeks ago folks were lining up to mock 2027 quarterbacks to this team - now they're being called one of the best teams in the conference. John Breech at CBS Sports has given the Falcons an A+ grade for blowing out the Saints, along with this note.
"If you watched the Falcons play at all during the first two weeks of the season, please forget everything
you saw, because that wasn't them... The surprising thing about the Falcons is that their offense has been making everything look easy over the past two weeks. Drake London always finds a way to get open. Robinson always finds a hole to run through. And then there's Michael Penix Jr., who was simply on point (His 75% accuracy rate was the third-highest of his career). With the offense playing so well, that's allowed the defense to pin its ears back and that has worked out well for Atlanta. This might be one of the best teams in the NFC."
This is the point we kept making from April up until the start of the season - this is one of the most-talented rosters in the league, and most of their core is made up of players who are either young or in their prime. All they needed to contend was a head coach upgrade and a competent starting quarterback, and it seems they've gotten both.
So long as they can keep Michael Penix Jr. clean and healthy, this team looks like it can compete with anybody.
Baltimore will provide an interesting challenge, but we'll really get an idea of where this team stands in Week 7 when they host the undefeated San Francisco 49ers, who are at the top of just about every power rankings list this week.
