Notre Dame football has made an ACC addition to its 2027 schedule
Notre Dame football has the unique ability to pretty much schedule anyone they want, and but there is some ACC flare to the slate.
The Irish often decided on Atlantic Coastal schools over others, due to its relationship with the conference in most other major sports. The two matched up once again on Wednesday, as Virginia announced a game against Notre Dame set for sometime next fall. The Cavaliers will be the host, but date and time are currently unknown.
The two teams donβt have an extensive history against each other, with just five games played since the first meeting in 1989. Notre Dame has won every single game, with none of them being particularly close with the exception
of a 34-27 win in Charlottesville in 2015.
The Irish will have another solid schedule in 2027, already having games with Auburn, Michigan State, Wake Forest, Clemson, BYU and Duke. The mix of teams is great, as Notre Dame will take on teams from the ACC, SEC, Big 12 and Big Ten, which covers each major conference.
