It wasn’t the best start to an NFL career for a former Notre Dame running back, and it got worse over the weekend.
Jadarian Price was taken with the last pick of the first round of the NFL draft by the Seattle Seahawks, and many believed due to need that he’s step right in a be the starter. It looked that way after the season opening win, as he had the most carries on the team with 10 for 52-yards.
When Price faced former backfield teammate Jeremiyah Love in Week 2, he sustained a chest injury. It knocked him out of the game, and then he wasn’t effective during Week 3. This past week during practice, Price reaggrevated the injury and Seattle was forced to play him on Injury Reserve before its Week 4 game.
He’ll now miss the next four weeks, at
minimum, including this past weekends game. However, the Seahawk run game might look different when he returns. Zach Charbonnet is set to return ahead of Price, and he could step into the RB1 spot. Emanuel Wilson played well this past weekend, and the return of the former Irish star could see him a few spots lower on the depth chart. The Seahawks have also signed Joe Milton recently, putting another back on the roster.
Hopefully Price gets back to the field on the quicker side, and he can still make an impact for Seattle this season. All of Irish Nation hopes that’s the case.
