Senior wide receiver Jordan Faison has gone from a walk-on for US LBM Coaches Poll No. 6 Notre Dame to one of the teams’ captains in just a few years.
Faison also quickly became one of CJ Carr’s favorite targets and the Fighting Irish’s primary punt returner.
It’s why the senior receiver has been named a nominee for this year’s Burlsworth Trophy
, an award that honors the top player in college football who started his career as a walk-on.Through eight games for Notre Dame, Faison has 38 receptions for 497 yards and four touchdowns. Last season, the senior recorded 49 catches for 640 yards and four scores.
Faison’s best game so far this season was in Notre Dame’s 37-26 win over UNC on Oct. 3, when he had eight receptions for 132 yards and two TDs.
