Notre Dame quarterback CJ Carr has proven time and time again why he’s considered a high first-round pick for the 2027 NFL Draft.
That was evident when Carr received a first-place vote in ESPN’s latest poll on who is considered “QB1” in next year’s draft.
ESPN put together a poll of 25 NFL scouts and executives, asking them “who will be the top quarterback taken in the upcoming draft?”
Carr completed 19-of-29 passes for 239 yards and two touchdowns in Notre Dame’s 41-13 win over Wisconsin in the Shamrock Series game last weekend. On Saturday, he was even better, completing 16-of-20 passes for 253-yards and 4 touchdowns.
Other QBs to receive votes in ESPN’s poll were Oregon’s Dante Moore (14 votes), Texas’ Arch Manning (7 votes), South Carolina’s
LaNorris Sellers (2 votes) and LSU’s Sam Leavitt (1 vote).
“While five players received first-place votes, the consensus among scouts is that this is an unusually deep year for the number of quarterbacks who could end up playing their way into the first round,” noted in ESPN’s article.
