Notre Dame football will finally get to see how it will be officially viewed this fall, as the first US LBM Coaches Poll of the 2026 season will be released today.
With a new season, brings a bit of a new way of finding out the top-25, as poll will be released live with instant analysis from four of USA TODAY Sports analysts’ along with a currently unknown special guest appearance.
This will be the only Coaches Poll of the season that will not happen on a Sunday, as every other one released this fall will be after the action. Find out below all of the information to see where every top-25 team is ranked in the 2026 preseason US LBM Coaches Poll.

The release of the first Coaches Poll will feature four of USA TODAY Sports top analyst in Blake Toppmeyer,
Matt Hayes, John Brice and Paul Myerberg. The quartet will be joined by a special guest, who is unknown at the moment.

The first coaches poll will start its countdown to No. 1 at 11:00 A.M. CDT.
Where Notre Dame should be ranked in the preseason US LBM Coaches Poll
There are more than a few teams that could take the top spot which Notre Dame is included. There are two top Big Ten teams (Ohio State and Oregon) along with the defending National Champion Indiana and SEC powers Georgia and Texas. It looks like a Big Ten team along with an SEC team should be the top-2, then there’s a good chance that it’s the Irish at No. 3.
