Notre Dame entered the week at No. 5 in the US LBM Coaches poll, but many others don’t see eye-to-eye with the coaches. .
In USA Today Sports’ NCAA Re-Rank after Week 8, the Fighting Irish moved down from No. 5 to No. 7. Notre Dame was part of a shake-up in the top 10, which includes Ohio State, Miami, Georgia, Utah, Indiana, BYU, UCLA, Kentucky and Texas in that order.
The Irish had one of the biggest drops in the top-10, but BYU fell three spots from No. 3 to No. 6 following an overtime upset loss to UCF. It’s pretty disappointing that many have dropped Notre Dame after not playing this past weekend. Maybe it has to do with how the Cougars played, but it’s fairly common following a big game for teams to struggle, and even lose.
The good news
is that none of this really matters, as all Notre Dame has to do is impress the committee.
The unexpected results from Week 8 of the college football season have had a major impact on the NCAA Re-Rank 1-138. https://t.co/DVg9LkNhsx
