It hasn’t been the prettiest of victories, but US LBM Coaches Poll No. 3 Notre Dame is undefeated and still in the hunt for a College Football Playoff berth.
The Fighting Irish have now won 15 in a row following a 37-26 victory over North Carolina on Saturday. According to Chris Hummer of 247Sports, Notre Dame has the second-longest double-digit win streak in the last 30 years.
The Miami Hurricanes hold the record with a 17-game double-digit win streak between 2000 and 2001. The Irish are tied with the Florida Gators (2008-09) in their current run.
Clemson (2018-19) and 2013 Florida State are knotted at a 14-game streak.
Notre Dame’s 15-game streak is also the third-longest in program history since the 1988 national championship season.
The Irish’s
5-0 record is also the team’s best in the Marcus Freeman era and since 2020. Notre Dame went 10-2 and reached the CFP that season.
Notre Dame will host Stanford next Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET.
