After a difficult first half at Navy that had may have had upset alerts pinging phones everywhere, the No. 6 Notre Dame Fighting Irish got rolling in the second half and put the game away, winning 35-13.
Here are the five stars for the Fighting Irish today, as they advance to 7-1 by winning against the Midshipmen at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.
5 ⭐️ - Nolan James Jr.
Two touchdowns, including a big 52-yard run before the half that regained the lead for the Irish, and 107 yards on just nine carries -- yeah, that'll play. Big day for James Jr.
4 ⭐️ - Jerome Bettis Jr.
Bettis Jr. had a breakout game in the second half, and he finished with six catches for 78 yards and a 31-yard touchdown.
3 ⭐️ - Jordan Faison
He didn't find the end zone, but Notre Dame's ol' reliable wide receiver had a quietly good day with
four catches for 46 yards.
2 ⭐️ - CJ Carr
He played his way back onto this list with a strong second half -- after halftime, he wasn't in range of a star. He was 12-of-15 in the second half and finished 19-of-29 for 210 yards and two touchdowns with no picks.
1 ⭐️ - Luke Talich
The Fighting Irish safety finished with 10 tackles, five solo. A strong performance for a Notre Dame defender after the Irish were flummoxed by Navy's triple option attack in the first half.
