Notre Dame senior safety Luke Talich was in question to play against Purdue this weekend due to an injured left wrist.
The Notre Dame Football PR team confirmed on social media that he will not be available to face off against the Boilermakers. According to reports, the goal for Talich is to play next week on the road against North Carolina.
Talich is the sixth Notre Dame defender and second safety, the other being Brauntae Johnson, to be unavailable for Saturday’s game. In three games so far this season, Talich has 11 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, an interception, a pass breakup and two deflections.

last weekend.
Freshman Joey O’Brien will make his first career start for the Irish in place of Talich’s absence, according to Jake Soble of BlueandGold.com.
Saturday’s game between the Irish and the Boilermakers will start at 2 p.m. ET and stream exclusively on Peacock.
