Sports Illustrated has had a firm stance on Notre Dame being the top seed in the College Football Playoff.
SI has been especially adamant with how the Fighting Irish are taking care of business this season after a CFP snub last year. Did that continue after Notre Dame’s Week 5 win over North Carolina?
Yes, it did.
For the third straight week, the Irish are No. 1 in SI’s mock CFP bracket. With Notre Dame receiving a bye, SI has predicted that No. 8 Indiana will face the Irish in the Cotton Bowl.
Notre Dame, ranked No. 3 again in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll, will move on to face No. 4 Miami in the Sugar Bowl. SI noted that with a win secured, the Irish will face No. 2 Georgia in the CFP National Championship at Las Vegas.
Notre Dame (5-0) will host
Stanford (2-3) on Saturday.
