Ex-Notre Dame standout and current Las Vegas Aces star Jackie Young has been a key piece in USA Women’s Basketball’s run in the FIBA World Cup.

That continued when she contributed in a big way in Team USA’s 97-79 win over France in the World Cup final. Young posted 18 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Americans.

The Americans were trailing 45-43 at the half, but Team USA used a 30-12 run in the third quarter to take control of the game.

Young finished the tournament second in points (12.3) and assists (3.2) per game. Her 18 points were the most she scored in six games of the World Cup.

Team USA captured its fifth straight World Cup title, winning it in 2010, 2014, 2018, 2022 and this year. The Americans have secured 12 World Cup crowns

in the tournament’s history.
