Notre Dame football had a very good win on Saturday afternoon against Purdue and that made a bit of a difference in the updated US LBM Coaches Poll.
The Irish entered the week ranked No. 3, and stayed at that spot as No. 1 Texas and No. 2 Georgia were unchanged. The good news is that Notre Dame gained one new No. 1 vote, the total now stands at three. The biggest mover down in the top-10 was Ole Miss, who lost a top-25 matchup to Florida, as the Rebels dropped to No. 12. The Gators made a huge leap, going from No. 22 all the way up to No. 8. Multiple new teams entered the poll as well, one of them getting ranked in the high-teens.
Looking ahead at some of Notre Dame’s remaining 2026 opponents, BYU is No. 9, Miami is No. 4 and SMU is No. 19. The
meat of the Irish’s schedule is still ahead of them, as the road gets tougher as the year goes on.
