Notre Dame sophomore wide receiver Quincy Porter has not made his Irish debut yet, and it could be a bit longer until that happens.
Porter, who has been dealing with a nagging left knee injury since he joined Notre Dame, is listed as out for a second straight game. Freeman said in late August that Porter underwent a “minor procedure” and was “still a couple of weeks out.”
Freeman has not provided an update on Porter for a few weeks.
“He’s still got a little bit of time to be in a position where we feel like he can help this team,” Freeman said in August via On3. “But (his return) will happen. It’s going to happen here soon. I just don’t know when it’s going to be.”
Porter transferred to Notre Dame after a season at Ohio State. In five games for
the Buckeyes, he had four catches for 59 yards.
A five-star Class of 2025 recruit out of Bergen Catholic (N.J.), Porter had 57 receptions for 969 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2024. He caught 41 passes for 969 yards and 16 TDs as a junior in 2023.
