It’s not great when anyone suffers an injury during the week, and that’s exactly the case for Notre Dame football.
The Irish seemed to be getting healthy, but a midweek injury to backup offensive tackle Owen Strebig, shared by Jack Soble, takes away some of the depth. He was listed as the second-string right tackle behind Guerby Lambert, which now moves Charlie Thom and Grayson McKeogh into the two-deep. Both are true freshman who entered the program as 4-star prospects.
Clearly both Thom and McKeogh lack the experience at this level, but head coach Marcus Freeman hasn’t been afraid to play young offensive linemen if he feels they are ready. Soble also added that he has confidence in both of them, that if they do see the field, they can get the job
done.
This will be a position to monitor this weekend against Michigan State, as any injury to Notre Dame’s offensive line could see a significant change in-game.
