Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman is looking for any edge that he can, and this season during camp he’s looking to an NBA legend for inspiration.

, the Irish are watching clips of Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan as they warmup for practice. This clearly is a tactic by Freeman to motivate his players, as he’s using who many have called the ultimate competitor to get the team hyped up.To me, the message is very clear, as many watched the Bulls documentary “The Last Dance,” which saw Jordan multiple times say that he took some things during his career personally, which pushed him even further. Following Notre Dame getting snubbed by the College Football Playoff, taking that personally makes plenty of sense
for the Irish.
It’s also interesting that he didn’t pick a more recent player, like Kobe Bryant or LeBron James, as this move made it pretty clear who Freeman views as the GOAT of NBA basketball. I think it’s a pretty unique motivation tactic that he’s using, one that hopefully ends like much of Jordan’s 1990’s did, raising a championship trophy.
