US LBM Coaches Poll No. 2 Notre Dame is on an unprecedented, undefeated run as the team continues to make its case for the College Football Playoff.
With the Fighting Irish at 6-0 and one of nine unbeaten teams left this season, Sports Illustrated’s Tim Capurso predicted when each team will suffer its first loss.
So when does Capurso have Notre Dame? Never. In fact, he has the Irish winning it all.
“I predicted the Fighting Irish to win the national championship when we took a glance into our crystal ball before the season began, and I’ve seen nothing yet that changes my mind,” Capurso said.
Capurso has Notre Dame’s Saturday evening opponent, No. 8 BYU, losing to the Irish this weekend.
“BYU (5-0) can give Notre Dame a good game, but the Fighting
Irish will prevail in the end to hand the Cougars their first loss of the season,” Capurso said.
According to Capurso, No. 3 Miami (5-0) will suffer its first loss to the Irish on Nov. 7.
“Notre Dame quarterback CJ Carr is more than capable of taking to the air and keeping pace with Darian Mensah if necessary, giving the Irish multiple different paths to victory here,” Capurso said.
