It was quite the weekend for the Fitzgerald family, as Larry was inducted into the Hall of Fame and current Notre Dame freshman wide receiver Devin was excused to be part of the ceremony.
A quick trip to Canton for the former 4-star prospect, as he was back in South Bend for practice on Monday. Fitzgerald quickly reintroduced himself to the defensive backs, as he made a highlight reel catch shared by the official Notre Dame football social media account.
Fitzgerald made a very positive impression this past spring, as he looked the part during the Blue and Gold game. He has put himself into the conversation to be on the two-deep at wide receiver, a position that has multiple spots this fall. There is no doubt in my mind that the freshman will see
the field this fall, the biggest question is how much run will be actually get.
Head coach Marcus Freeman is not afraid to play first-year players if they’ve proved themselves to be up to the task in practice, and if Fitzgerald continues to makes catches like he did on Monday, we’re going to see plenty of him during this coming season and beyond.
