Did Notre Dame fall further in SI’s mock CFP bracket after Week 7?

US LBM Coaches Poll No. 8 Notre Dame had a three-week run at the top of Sports Illustrated’s mock College Football Playoff bracket.

Then, the Fighting Irish dropped down to No. 3 last week

. This week, Notre Dame fell further to No. 8 in SI’s CFP projections. The Fighting Irish are projected to face No. 9 Texas Tech in the opening round of the CFP. The winner of that game will take on No. 1 BYU in the quarterfinal round.

SI has Notre Dame beating Texas Tech then knocking off BYU in the Fiesta Bowl to face No. 4 Miami in the Sugar Bowl of the CFP semifinal round.

The Irish’s run, however, will stop there with SI pitting the Hurricanes against No. 3 Indiana in the CFP National Championship game.
