With it being Michigan State week for Notre Dame, it’s always interesting to hear what the opposing head coach had to say about the Irish.
On Monday, new Spartan head coach Pat Fitzgerald was asked about the impact that Notre Dame’s defense will have on the game and he gushed about the unit as he called them “freakazoids.” Starting off with cornerback Leonard Moore, who he believes is “going to be the first pick overall.”
Fitzgerald then would speak about safety Adon Shuler, as he said it didn’t take long for him to flash on tape. “There 8,” as he mentioned about looking over the film during preparation. The linebackers were next, as he thinks theres “two, maybe three All-Americans there,” as Fitz mentioned the fact that there is a big rotation
of players on the defensive line with multiple draft picks there.
It very much seems like the Spartans are preparing for an extremely tough challenge, as they have yet to face a tough challenge early this season. Fitzgerald knows it won’t be easy, as MSU will try to be balanced, and have a good week of practice to be prepared and compete.
