What is the story about?

There have been plenty of positive views on Notre Dame football’s new facilities, as the Jack and Kathy Shields Family Hall opened as the weekend began.

While still extremely new, and most likely not many have taken tours, 247Sports Brad Crawford had seen enough to be impressed. As the writer who puts together the facilities rankings, he knows a good one when he sees it. Crawford made more than a few observations about Shields, his first being that Notre Dame has never been inside of his top-10, “but that changes now,” he explained.

However, the one that stood out to me that most is what he said about head coach Marcus Freeman. Crawford said “no wonder Marcus Freeman has no plans to leave. Will win a national title before he’s done, I think.”

We think so too, but more like a few with what he is building, and now having the building.

Shields Hall is a massive upgrade for the Irish, one that will be viewed as a top football facility nationally.
