Facing a 6-1 ball club in their house is going to bring a few concerns. Here are the three that look the most glaring for the Raiders in the 'Battle of the Bay' on Sunday.
1. Smothering 49ers run defense
The 49ers allow just 89 yards per game to opposing offenses. And the 3.5 yards per carry they allow is second in the NFL. For the Raiders’ part, they average just 3.0 yards per carry. That’s a recipe for the Raiders to have little chance to establish any sort of run game which is a good indicator for losing.
2. 49ers coming off a bye
That’s right. As if the 49ers need two weeks to prepare for the Raiders, that’s exactly what they have. The previously undefeated 49ers were coming off their first loss of the season and are now coming off of their bye week. They will be well-rested, and well-prepared for their old
Bay Area rivals to come to town.
3. Raiders defense setting wrong kind of records
Some records you don’t want. This would be one of them. The Raiders already set a new franchise record for consecutive games allowing at least 27 points. And they could not only extend that record to seven games, but set a new one allowing six straight games giving up 30 points; a number the 49ers have hit in three games already this season.
