After the game against the Rams last week, captains could be hard to come by. Seeing as the team needs to be treating it almost like a reward for fine play the week before. That is especially true of the defense which couldn't stop the Rams offense except for when they were clearly just trying to run clock after going up big in the second half.
But captains must be named. And for the first time this season, there were repeat captains. All three of them, in fact.
For offense they went with Ashton Jeanty who may not have had a great game on the ground, but did make some highlight reel catches. He was a captain in Week 2 after his 102-yard rushing performance in the opener as well.
On defense, why not, Maxx Crosby. No one really had a good game on defense --
Crosby included -- so just name the Raiders most accomplished defender. And the coaches probably figured if there's anyone who should be the first repeat captain from the defense, it's should be him. Crosby was last a captain in Week 3.
On special teams it's Dylan Laube who had a big return last week and now leads the NFL with 31.1 yards per kick return. He was last a captain in Week 2, same week Jeanty was a captain.
