The Las Vegas Raiders have named quarterback Kirk Cousins, and linebackers Quay Walker, and Segun Olubi as captains for their Week 1 matchup against the Miami Dolphins, head coach Klint Kubiak announced Wednesday. The Raiders will be led by three veterans set to make their debuts for the team in the matchup.
Cousins is the Raiders’ offensive captain for the game. He will begin his tenure with the Raiders as the team’s starting quarterback, bringing extensive NFL experience to Las Vegas’ revamped roster. His presence is expected to provide stability for the team as the Raiders begin a new chapter under new head coach Klint Kubiak.
Walker, another key Raiders offseason addition, is the team’s defensive captain, and is expected to play a prominent
role in the second line of defense. Olubi will also lead Las Vegas as the special teams captain in his first game played with the team after playing the last four seasons for the Indianapolis Colts from 2022-25.
The Raiders will host the Dolphins at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday.
