Wednesday Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak took to the podium wearing a hat that had the acronym "E.A.T." on it. It's the first time that has been seen on gear from the team. And Kubiak appeared to not realize he was even wearing it when he stepped in front of the media. Prompting questions about it.
"Oh, man. I didn't realize I was wearing this hat, said Kubiak. "It's just something that we talk about on offense and defense, and it's really just how we are fundamentals. How we block, how we tackle, something that we stress. You know, things that take no talent."
Where does E.A.T. come from?
The acronym is one that Kubiak brought with him from his time in Seattle under head coach Mike McDonald. And clearly it's a proven philosophy because it helped Kubiak and the Seahawks
win the Super Bowl following last season.
What does it mean?
The acronym means Effort, Angles, and Tackling.
Here is McDonald explaining what it means in an interview from late last season.

McDonald explains that it started on defense and they moved it to the offense. He said that it's "a way of life" really just a rallying cry of how they want to finish plays.
