The Las Vegas Raiders have established themselves as an elite pass-rushing defense in the NFL through the first two weeks of the season. The Raiders have made life difficult for opposing quarterbacks in each of their first two games of the year, and the results speak for themselves.
According to NFL Next Gen Stats (via NFL.com’s Anthony Holzman-Escareno), the Raiders lead the league in quarterback pressure rate thus far this season at 50 percent.

Las Vegas began the season with a 27-13
win over the Miami Dolphins, recording five sacks against Dolphins quarterback Malik Willis. The Raiders consistently collapsed the pocket, forcing Willis into difficult throws and limiting the offense’s ability to establish rhythm. Willis completed 15 of 27 passes for 220 yards with one interception and lost 35 yards on sacks. Maxx Crosby and Kwity Paye combined for 3½ sacks as Las Vegas made a statement on defense in the win.
The Raiders faced the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 2 and did a commendable job making life difficult for Justin Herbert. The Raiders sacked Herbert three times for nine yards in the game, and big-time plays off of pressures helped Las Vegas secure the win 26-14 win.
Through two games, the Raiders’ pressure rate has been a strength for the team. Their defense has been on a tear and has a Week 3 matchup against the New Orleans Saints to prepare for looking ahead.
