There was a noticeable difference in the way the Chargers' offense performed in their season opener when WR Ladd McConkey was in the game and after he left with a rib injury. Making it clear that one of the Raiders' best shots at winning would be if McConkey were unable to go this week. But according to reports, McConkey is trending toward playing.
Chargers WR Ladd McConkey, dealing with a cracked rib, practiced Friday and has improved more steadily than anticipated. The team did not elevate a WR and he’s pushing to play, sources say. There is optimism that he can go today, barring a setback.

The third year receiver has 158 catches for 2020 yards and 14 touchdowns in 33 games in his career. Including 82 yards and a TD on five catches in the opener
last week. So, whether he is available or not is a big deal.
The uncertain status of McConkey only helps the Chargers as it forces the Raiders to gameplan for him.
If he plays, the question will then be whether his performance will be affected by the injury. Certainly the Raiders will be prepared to face a fully ready to go player and therefore the secondary will need to be at their best to try and stop him.
