The more they release from the Madden movie the more I'm excited to see it. Just the other day I was chatting with a longtime Raiders PR person (casually, mind you) about the Madden movie and his thoughts on it. While I'll keep his responses to myself, all I could really say about it was that I loved Christian Bale as Al Davis and was not sure how I felt about Nicholas Cage as John Madden.
But now, after seeing the latest trailer, I get it. And I'm all in.
Why am I all in? Because, first of all, the new trailer shows it's actually a comedy. And with this revelation came the cast showing up for the first time, including comedians Kathryn Hahn, John Mulaney, Shane Gillis, and Joel Murray.
I love a good biopic that doesn't take itself too seriously.
And if you have seen The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, you know Nicholas Cage kills in roles like this. And if you haven't seen The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, what the hell are you even doing with your life? It's an incredible, brilliant movie and you need to go see it right the hell now.
We already knew former Raiders LB Miles Burris would be playing the legendary Phil Villapiano in the film. Now along with the other cast revelations in this trailer came a quick cameo from another former Raider legend -- RB Marshawn Lynch. It happens quickly, so you may need to go watch it again to catch him. He appears at the 1:33 mark.
The Madden Movie will premiere November 18 on Prime.
