Last week Cody White was on the team's practice squad. Now he's getting start reps. That's a big jump for someone who just a few weeks ago was unemployed. But he's earned it.
White was in Seattle the past couple seasons. Where he had a total of five catches for 134 yards and a touchdown. He was waived by the Seahawks
in the final roster cuts and his former OC Klint Kubiak signed him to the Raiders practice squad. The first three weeks of this season, White was elevated to the active roster, and all he did was make a huge touchdown-saving tackle on special teams, then score three touchdowns on offense. That earned him being signed to the active roster once the team placed Jack Bech on injured reserve.
And Sunday against Kansas City, he finished
second among wide receivers with 52 snaps (62%). In the process, he caught two passes for 36 yards and scored a crucial two-point conversion late in the game.
Meanwhile big free agent acquistion Jalen Nailor was relegated to just 19 snaps (23%).
Here's how the snaps were doled out in the pivotal mathup between the Raiders and Chiefs.
