Las Vegas Raiders rookie running back Mike Washington Jr. may be a player that fantasy football team managers will want to consider adding to their teams ahead of Week 3. Washington is still the backup in the Raiders’ offensive backfield, though starter Ashton Jeanty hurt his ankle against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 2, making the former a player to have on the radar moving forward.
FantasyPros’ Pat Fitzmaurice labeled Washington as being a top player to add off of the waiver wire in fantasy football, with an FAAB true value of $1.
“Jeanty tweaked his ankle on Sunday — the same one he injured during an August practice,” Fitzmaurice said. “…Washington is unrostered in 56% of Yahoo leagues despite his fine preseason showing. Jeanty stakeholders
might want to consider slapping on the cuffs.”
Washington picked up right where he left off from the preseason with seven carries for 41 rushing yards in the Raiders’ season opener, but had a quiet game in Week 2, recording seven rushing yards in the win over the Chargers. Washington is a big play waiting to happen, and is liable to put up starter numbers on a weekly basis with ample carries.
In the event that Jeanty has to miss time after he hurt his ankle on Sunday, Washington will be a great player to snag off of the waiver wire in fantasy football with the potential to put up huge numbers.
