Wednesday the Raiders were at the deadline for activating tight end Carter Runyon from injured reserve or shut him down for the season. They opted to activate the promising second-year tight end, which meant they had to make a corresponding move to make room.
The corresponding move turned out to be WR Cody White.
The Raiders released WR Cody White and activated TE Carter Runyon from Injured Reserve.

White was signed to the team after being let go by the Seahawks in their final roster cuts at the end of August. He was elevated to the roster the first three weeks of the season, and caught three touchdowns in those games. A mark that is still third on the team and second among wide receivers on the roster below only Tre Tucker (four)
With three elevations,
that meant if they wanted to use him again, they would need to sign him. They did so, while sending WR Jack Bech to injured reserve.
Well, now Jack Bech is back. As is Dont'e Thornton. And Jalen Nailor had his best game last Sunday, catching his first touchdown. So, apparently when the decision had to be made as to who was expendable, it was White.
I would expect the team to add him back to the practice squad should he clear waivers. Keep in mind when they activated Thornton, they waived Jonah Laulu and he was claimed by the Titans, so they were unable to get him back.
