This Las Vegas Raiders defense has done an excellent job forcing turnovers. The 3-1 Raiders are +3 in the turnover differential department. They'll like their chances of forcing New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye to make crucial mistakes in Week 5.
Only three teams have a better turnover differential rate than the Raiders. Rookie defensive backs Treydan Stukes (1) and Hezekiah Masses (3) have generated the defense's four interceptions. They'll both believe they can add to that total in Week 5.
Maye has struggled mightily this season after finishing second in MVP voting last year while simultaneously leading the Patriots to a Super Bowl LX appearance. The former North Carolina QB currently leads the NFL in interceptions with seven. He's
also fumbled a league-high five times. losing two. Maye has committed nine turnovers in four games.
It's not like Maye has necessarily had bad turnover luck either. Pro Football Focus tracks turnover-worthy plays, which highlights a quarterback's bad decision. Maye is tied with Justin Herbert for the lead in that negative statistic, having committed 10 TWPs.
Maye is really struggling. This Raiders defense has been opportunistic while forcing turnovers. Forcing Maye into mistakes would swing the Week 5 momentum in the Raiders' favor.
