This time last year, Germaine Pratt had just signed on with the Colts after being cut by the Raiders. Interesting how history repeats itself as the Colts just plucked him off the unemployment line again.
Last year, Pratt was among a slew of linebackers the Raiders added in the offseason. The former Bengals leading tackler was the final addition, becoming their highest paid linebacker
on a one-year $5 million deal. The seven-year veteran started the Raiders first four games of the 2025 season alongside fellow veteran offseason additions Elandon Roberts, Devin White, and Jamal Adams. Then suddenly after four games, Pratt was cut. No real reason was given, but it was probably because he realized he was on a sinking ship in Las Vegas and wanted off.
As it turns out he ended up joining the team the Raiders were about to play, heading to Indianapolis, where he played the final 12 games...and after a 4-1 start, watched that ship sink as well, losing their final seven games. Then he hit free agency in March and remained a free agent throughout the offsason...until today.
Pratt is now back in Indianapolis, signed to the team's practice squad after a spot opened up when the Colts signed TE Pharoah Brown off the practice squad.
