The-once 3-0 Las Vegas Raiders have dropped two consecutive contests and find themselves at 3-2. The lack of a true wide receiver threat continues to hamstring Klint Kubiak's offense. Perhaps general manager John Spytek will begin looking for help at the position ahead of the Nov. 10 trade deadline.
One potential buy-low option is Tennessee Titans veteran receiver Calvin Ridley. The 0-5 Titans will undeniably be sellers at the NFL trade deadline. The Titans have young receivers like Carnell Tate, Wan'Dale Robinson, and Elic Ayomanor on the roster.
The Titans restructured Ridley's contract in the offseason. It indicates they are planning to release him next offseason. It also made a Ridley trade realistic, and their rebuilding roster might as well
get draft capital back for him before outright cutting him.
Right now, the Raiders' passing game is completely being funneled through TE Brock Bowers and RB Ashton Jeanty. Bowers led the Raiders in targets in Week 5 with 10. Jeanty was Kirk Cousins' second-most targeted outlet (six). No Raiders receiver had more than five targets. The week prior versus the Kansas City Chiefs, it was Bowers and fellow TE Michael Mayer who led the offense.
This Raiders offense clearly lacks a true WR1. Despite limited reps, Ridley has generated some explosive plays for that Titans offense this season, producing five catches for 81 yards. Ridley is averaging 16.2 yards per reception. The Raiders should strongly consider trading a Day Three pick for the three-time 1,000 yard receiver.
