In Thursday's preseason finale, the Raiders must have come away pretty impressed with what they saw. Because with their pick of any player on waivers they wanted, they made one move and it was to claim 49ers CB Darrell Luter.
Luter started the game for the 49ers and put up a team-leading two pass breakups, including tipping the Fernando Mendoza pass that was intercepted by LB Bethune.
The 6-0, 190-pound corner also made a tackle on TE Michael Mayer on a one-yard catch.
Luter was entering his fourth season in the NFL. He was originally selected in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft out of South Alabama. He started three games last season for the 49ers.
No doubt the 49ers were hoping he would clear waivers so they could put him on the practice
squad. But the Raiders didn't let that happen.
