Las Vegas Raiders star defensive end Maxx Crosby has yet to win an AP Defensive Player of the Year award in his career. Next season will present Crosby with the opportunity to reach that final level in his career, but will he?
CBS Sports’ Douglas Clawson forecasted that Crosby will indeed emerge as the AP DPOY in 2026 in his set of bold predictions for next season.
”Maxx Crosby is going to troll the Ravens by having a career year in 2026 after his trade to Baltimore was nixed because of a failed physical. That means close to 100 tackles and 15+ sacks as he wins Defensive Player of the Year.”
Crosby plays with a natural fire that does not need much more added to it to bring out the best in him. Nevertheless, the circumstances are ripe for him to put
together a career year in 2026 after injuries took their toll last year.
Playing alongside an improved unit on defense under defensive coordinator Rob Leonard will enable Crosby to get over that final hurdle as an individual talent and add to his resume next season. He is already among the best players in the league at picking up tackles for loss, if not the best in that field. Upping his sacks total to league-leading territory in 2026 will only strengthen his case for DPOY honors.
