To the surprise of no one, Brock Bowers was the top rated tight end in the NFL for Week 8. But it might surprise you to learn that his fellow starting tight end Michael Mayer also showed up among the best at the position this week according to grades from Pro Football Focus.

Take what you will from PFF's grading. But there's no question the Raiders got some outstanding production from their standout TE duo in their win over the Jets on Sunday.
Bowers was the Raiders' best weapon, as he often is, leading the team with seven catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns. But Mayer made his presence felt as well, coming second on the team in receptions, hauling in five passes on six targets
for 53 yards, while also performing his usual blocking duties.
Imagine what the Raiders offense will be able to accomplish if they ever upgrade the wide receiver room or get some consistent blocking in the run game.
