On the same day the Raiders sent Dont'e Thornton Jr to injured reserve, the Raiders brought another big target into the fold. And it's someone with whom Klint Kubiak is pretty familiar.
The Raiders announced Monday they signed former Seahawks WR Cody White to fill the final spot on the team's 17-man practice squad after the fourth-year receiver had been among the final roster cuts in Seattle.
The 6-3, 227-pound wideout spent the past two season in Seattle and was on the squad that went on to win the Super Bowl last February. Along the way, White had 11 catches for 169 yards and a touchdown during the regular season.
He brings a big body receiver the Raiders don't currently have with the 6-4 Thornton down with injury and none of the other taller
receivers on training camp roster making the team. Which means, if he can get up to speed quickly in an offense with which he is familiar, he could be called up to the regular season roster pretty soon.
