The Las Vegas Raiders got off to a winning start in 2026, dominating the Miami Dolphins 27-13 in Week 1. Sophomore running back Ashton Jeanty totally stole the show, compiling 147 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns. Another young Raider who was a standout performer was rookie defensive back Treydan Stukes.
The Raiders needed help in the defensive backfield this offseason. They recorded just eight interceptions in 2025, fourth-fewest in the NFL. That's partially why they drafted somebody like Stukes at No. 38 overall.
It didn't take Stukes long to make an immediate impact. The former Arizona defender registered his first career interception on a poorly placed downfield pass from Dolphins quarterback Malik Willis. Stukes won a starting job coming
out of training camp and showed exactly why in Week 1.

Stukes allowed just two receptions in coverage on three targets for 39 yards, according to Pro Football Focus. The versatile defensive back made four tackles and came away with his aforementioned interception. Stukes played quality football.
The Raiders forced two turnovers on Sunday and broke even in the turnover battle. They were -7 last season. Stukes was drafted to help the Raiders generate interceptions and splash plays. The Stukes pick paid immediate dividends in Week 1.
