What is the story about?
The
competition at left cornerback this season has been taking place at left cornerback between Darien Porter and rookie Hezekiah Masses. That competition might change as Porter went down in early in the Raiders Week 8 matchup with the Jets with a non-contact injury.
Porter left the field and headed for the medical tent. A short time later, he was ruled OUT for the remainder of the game.
Coming into the game was the Raiders *other* rookie cornerback, Jermod McCoy. Which suggests that should Porter miss extended time, the competition could continue at the position, but just be between the team's two drafted rookies instead.
