This week, the Raiders will have two decisions to make at the wide receiver spot. Both regarding whether to activate them off of injured reserve.
The team designated Jack Bech for return this week, which means he will take to the practice field for the first time since he left the team's Week 3 game in New Orleans with a forearm injury and was subsequently placed on injured reserve.
Bech's return to practice opens the 21-day window for his return to the active roster. If he is ready right now, he could be on the field when the team heads to the Meadowlands to face the New York Jets next Sunday. If not, his return will wait at least another week.
At the end of his 21-day window is fellow second-year receiver Dont'e Thornton. He has been back at
pratice the past three weeks but not yet activated. Head coach Klint Kubiak said mostly it's about conditioning considering the 6-5 target missed all of camp, so he hadn't practiced in quite some time.
On Monday, Kubiak was not ready to announce Thornton's return, saying that they have until Wednesday to make that decision. Should Thornton not be activated, his season would be over.
The 2025 fourth round pick had just 10 catches for 135 yards last season, but the hope was that he would show progress in his second season.
