Each of the past two weeks, Cody White has been elevated from the practice squad. And each of those two weeks he's made huge plays. First it was the tackle on special teams to save a TD in the opener against the Dolphins, then it was the two touchdown catches he had this past Sunday against the Chargers.
After such game heroics, it seemed like the team might see his value enough to sign him to the active roster. But as of Monday afternoon, White was again reverted to the team's practice squad.
The risk they run in sending White back to the practice squad is some other team snatching him up and signing him to their roster.
Overall, the Raiders can only elevate him one more time before having to make the decision at to whether to sign him. The 6-3,
227-pounder has a good situation under Klint Kubiak, who also coached him in Seattle. But it wouldn't be wise to turn down any offers to join a roster to stay on the practice squad in Las Vegas.
As of now, Kubiak has clearly weighed the risk and decided it's either not high or is one he's willing to take.
