The nominees for Pepsi Rookie of the Week are out for Week two. Among them is Las Vegas Raiders CB Hezekiah Masses who, in his first start, picked off two passes and added five tackles.

None of Masses's fellow nominees have an iron clad case for the award. Denzel Boston might be the closest with five catches for 95 yards and a touchdown. But is that more impressive than two interceptions? I don't think so. Many players don't put up in a whole season. And he did it in he debut. While also coming in third on the team with five tackles, one of which was for a loss.
Masses was picked on by Chargers QB Justin Herbert all day and held up like a champ. Along
with his interceptions, he only gave up one catch for 13 yards. Even if you remove the interceptions, Masses had a terrific game. But since that's obviously the criteria that has him nominated for Rookie of the Week, he's clearly deserving.
