The hits keep coming for former Texas A&M standout Chris Hacopian, who delivered his first professional home run with a no‑doubt shot to left field on Tuesday.
Hacopian entered the Nationals organization as one of the most polished hitters in the 2026 MLB Draft class, selected 11th overall by Washington. And while it’s still a small sample size, he’s already showing why scouts were so high on his bat. Through 12 games, Hacopian owns three multi‑hit performances, a .263/.392/.342 slash line, 10 hits, and a .733 OPS, steady production for a player still working back from a nagging injury.
As he eases into a consistent role, Hacopian has bounced between second base and designated hitter, giving the Nationals flexibility while he ramps up. But Tuesday
brought a milestone worth circling.
Trailing 7–3 in the top of the sixth, Hacopian turned on a pitch and sent it well over the left‑field wall, jogging around the bases for his first professional homer. It was a no‑doubter the moment it left the bat and a moment that signals his upward trajectory as he settles into the season.
