After Texas A&M's sixth preseason practice on Wednesday afternoon, Northwestern transfer Edge Anto Saka, whose physical features and physique mirror that of a veteran NFL pass rusher, spoke to the media for the first time this preseason, heaping praise on S&C coach Tommy Moffitt, who has completely altered the Aggies' roster into one of the more physical units nationally.
Saka's rise from a relatively unknown pass rusher with the Wildcats to a potential first-round selection in the 2027 NFL Draft isn't surprising, especially after landing on Bruce Feldman's Freaks List for the second time in his career, while bolstering his weight-lifting numbers, including a 370-lb bench press, 565 squat, 345 power clean, and clocking in at 21.9 MPH.

6'4" and 255 pounds, Saka is in line to start at defensive end, pairing well with rising sophomore Jack Marco Jones, senior defensive tackle DJ Hicks, North Carolina transfer nose tackle CJ Mims, and senior defensive end T.J. Searcy, who make up the revamped but highly talented and productive defensive line that third-year coach Mike Elko will heavily rely on to anchor his 2026 defense.
Tommy Moffitt's impact can't be overstated, and Saka is just one of many transfer players, past and present, who have reached their physical goals over the span of one or two offseasons. After registering just 3.5 sacks during his final season with Northwestern, Saka's 30 pressures, which, in my opinion, is a more important stat, should excite every Aggie fan after watching Cashius Howell lead the SEC with 11.5 sacks last season and earn unanimous All-American status.
