No. 16 Texas A&M opens SEC play Sunday afternoon against South Carolina at Reed Arena. The Aggies finished nonconference play 7-5 and enter the match on a three-match winning streak, including a sweep of Rice on Tuesday.
A&M has been tested by a difficult early schedule, but recent wins over ranked Creighton and Rice give it momentum heading into conference play. Kyndal Stowers has led the offense, recording 21 kills against Creighton and 17 against Rice. Tuesday’s win also gave the Aggies a season-high 54 kills in a three-set match.
South Carolina is a familiar opponent. Texas A&M leads the all-time series 19-3 and swept the Gamecocks in their last visit to College Station. Sunday offers the Aggies a chance to carry their recent improvement into
the SEC schedule.
