Texas A&M officially shifted from preseason training camp into full game preparation this week a key milestone as the Aggies march toward opening day at Kyle Field. The roster still carries its share of unanswered questions, but the talent is undeniable, and several players are positioned to take major steps forward as the season begins.
Two of the most important pieces met with the media on Thursday. One newcomer expected to elevate an entire position group, and one sophomore poised for a breakout campaign.
Isaiah Horton, the former Alabama wideout, brings something Texas A&M has lacked for several seasons a true big‑bodied perimeter target who can win 50‑50 balls and change the geometry of the passing game. His presence has already reshaped
the wide receiver room, giving Marcel Reed a physical, reliable option on the outside as the offense continues to build chemistry.
On the defensive side, Marco Jones enters 2026 with the opportunity and expectation to become one of the Aggies’ next foundational linemen. After flashing as a freshman, Jones now steps into a much larger role as A&M works to replace nearly all of last year’s production up front.
