Texas A&M baseball continues to stay red‑hot across the minor leagues, with former Aggies making headlines almost daily. The latest surge came Tuesday night when Jace LaViolette once again lit up social media, crushing a towering grand slam over the right‑field wall against Richmond. The blast wasn’t just loud it marked his first Double‑A grand slam and another reminder of the elite, big‑league power he flashes whenever he barrels a pitch.
Through 16 games at the level, LaViolette has recorded 10 hits, and half of them have left the yard. His power is translating exactly the way scouts expected, but the strikeouts remain the glaring concern. He’s still punching out at an every‑other‑at‑bat pace, a trend that followed him from Single‑A to High‑A
and now into Double‑A. Even so, baseball is a sport built on adjustments, and LaViolette has already proven he can make them. When he settled in at High‑A, the strikeouts dipped, the contact improved, and the production skyrocketed.
If he can repeat that progression in Double‑A, his ceiling becomes almost limitless and there may not be a ballpark in the country capable of containing him.
