Texas A&M used Saturday’s 41-0 victory over The Citadel to give several young players their most extensive action of the season while allowing its starters to leave the game early.
The Aggies scored touchdowns on all four first-half possessions and built a 27-0 lead before turning the offense over to Brady Hart after halftime. Marcel Reed played 34 snaps, while Hart received 29 and led A&M on three scoring drives. Helaman Casuga also entered late for the final three plays.
The comfortable lead created similar opportunities on defense. A&M held The Citadel to 183 total yards, forced two turnovers and rotated 36 defenders as it recorded its second shutout of the season. The expanded rotation gave several freshmen and reserves valuable experience
before the Aggies return to SEC play.
