No. 19 Texas A&M (4-5) battled No. 6 Wisconsin for five sets before falling short Friday night at Reed Arena. The Aggies led the match 2-1 and held an 11-10 advantage late in the fifth set, but the Badgers scored the final five points to escape with the victory.
Texas A&M took the opening set 25-18 before Wisconsin responded with a 25-23 win in the second. The Aggies regained the lead by taking the third set 25-23, but the Badgers forced a fifth with a 25-22 win in the fourth before closing out the match 15-11.
Errors and Wisconsin’s presence at the net proved to be the difference. A&M recorded 69 kills compared to Wisconsin’s 60, but the Aggies finished with 28 attack errors and 12 service errors. The Badgers committed 20 attack errors and nine
service errors while controlling the net with a 17-9 advantage in blocks.

Even in the loss, the night featured a pair of milestones for the Aggies. The announced crowd of 9,211 was thethird largest in program history, while Rodriguez surpassed 100 career digs during another strong defensive performance.
A&M has faced one of the most challenging nonconference schedules in the country, with all five of its losses coming against ranked opponents. The Aggies have shown they can compete with the nation’s best, including Wednesday’s win over No. 4 Stanford, but cleaning up their errors will be essential moving forward.
The Aggies will return to action Tuesday at 6 p.m. when they host SFA at Reed Arena.
